Learn more about this exercise:

The prefrontal and parietal cortex are more active when participants complete two tasks simultaneously than when they process a single task. Thus, these brain regions appear to be essential for multitasking.

Multi-tasking can be challenging, but sometimes, we must pay attention to two things simultaneously. In this exercise, you must first do a visual task, then an auditory task, then both tasks simultaneously. We often have to use our visual attention and memory in combination with our auditory processing skills and memory to effectively participate in school, work, and conversations with friends and do things such as driving. Train your brain to learn the skills needed to be able to intake, process, and utilize both visual and auditory information at the same time.

You can modify:

  • The number of series (for both simple and double tasks, from 4 to 30)
  • The signs display time (from 200ms to unlimited)
  • The size of the grid (from 2 to 16 cells)
  • The number of sound categories (from 2 to 5)
