In this exercise, the user must memorize the itineraries of tours of popular tourist attractions and recall details about the trip (the location, the name, and the image).

This exercise trains visual and spatial memory pertaining to environmental information. You will need good orientation and perceptual skills to succeed. Various hints are suggested that may help you improve your memorization capacities. The primary areas of the brain that are exercised in this exercise are the right parietal cortex and the right temporal cortex.

Good visual-spatial skills are needed to orient yourself in a neighborhood or city, retrace your steps along a winding back road, or hike a trail. You also need those skills to find your car in an airport parking lot or estimate distances on a map. These skills are crucial to everyday life.

A very high degree of control is available. The parameters that can be selected are:

  • The number of countries (1, 2, 3, or 4)
  • The choice of countries (manual or random)
  • The number of tours in each country (2, 3, 4, 5, 6, or 7)
  • The memorization time per tour (unlimited, 30, 20, 10, 8, 6, or 4 seconds)
  • The recall time per tour (unlimited, 30, 20, 10, 8, 6, or 4 seconds)
  • The presence or not of a distraction task
