HappyNeuron can be used with patients with Psychiatric disorders (schizophrenia, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorders etc.), neurological disorders (TBI, stroke, Multiple Sclerosis etc.), or age-related cognitive impairment (Alzheimer, Parkinson etc.).
HappyNeuron Pro is a tool designed to be used by trained clinicians with their patients. It is first and foremost a tool at the service of the clinician: a library of materials, tasks, and ideas that clinicians can choose from for use with their patients.
Because its use is tailored to the needs of each patient, there is no static framework for using our program. Our program does not require a certain duration, intensity or method. We have thus not sought to define a strict protocol for clinical validation.
However, many research teams and practitioners around the world have worked on global therapy approaches that include our programs with very positive results. Check out a list of the major studies and publications.
bsolutely, you can work with your patients or residents individually or in groups. In group sessions, some exercises can be done by a single person, and others can be offered to the entire group or require the cooperation of everyone.
MyHappyNeuron is a program available to the general public and designed for people with no cognitive impairment.
HappyNeuron Pro offers similar types of tasks but is adapted for use by a clinician in a therapeutic setting for the treatment of various medical conditions affecting cognition.
Unfortunately, we are not currently HIPAA Compliant.
We are very much aware of how all health care facilities and practitioners have to comply with these regulations to protect their patient data and this is something we want to address. The process of self-certifying that we are HIPAA compliant is not that complex, but it requires us to run a very deep audit of our systems and measure the impact on the cost of our program of any necessary change (hosting providers, encryption, etc.).
This process is ongoing and we will definitely move towards an infrastructure and process that will be compliant.

Considering that the core of the data that we hold is not sensitive data (results of users in our home-made cognitive tasks), the path we have chosen at short term is the “Safe Harbor” method, consisting in removing any Personal Identifiable Information from the data that is transmitted and stored by our systems.
In other terms, we have built an option to help NOT storing and processing any Personal Identifiable Information (such as name, birthdate, SS number, etc.). With a properly applied de-identification, HIPAA states that « the Privacy Rule does not restrict the use or disclosure of de-identified health information, as it is no longer considered protected health information. ». If you wish to have this option activated on your account, just let us know.
HappyNeuron Pro is a web-based platform, you just need a browser to run it. It can be used on PC, Mac, iPad and Android Tablets.
HappyNeuron Pro is available in English, French, Spanish, German, Danish, Swedish, and Russian.
Our English service has 46+ exercises. Our French software has much more content, including assessment packages. The other services contain 20+ exercises.
